Job Description
The Revit Designer will have a strong background in Revit®; a working knowledge of AutoCAD® is a plus. The ideal applicant will also have experience in foodservice design or has worked in a foodservice environment and/or familiar with construction trades.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Becoming proficient in NSD database, and other industry programs such as AutoQuotes, KCL CAD Library, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Outlook
- Layout equipment floor plans using Revit®, per Project Manager’s designs and redlines
- Prepare Project rough-in drawings & schedules (plumbing, electrical, Special Conditions & Specialty Systems)
- Integration of manufactures drawings, Special Details, and FAB drawings
- Preparing project specification books with use of AutoQuotes and BlueBeam
- Review and understand engineering and shop drawings
- Design phase check lists and red lines
- All other employee responsibilities as outlined in the NSD Employee Handbook (will be received during training)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of floor plans, sections, details, and elevations.
- Ability to work in Cloud based platforms, and shared multi-discipline operations.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and Imperial/Metric systems.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to complete tasks on time. Take ownership to meet project deadlines and commitments.
- Demonstrates analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as manufacturer cut sheets, and design/construction files.
- Ability to foster relationships and create synergies with peers, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the NSD organization, external partners, and design teams.

Education and Experience: Software Proficiencies:
- Certified completion of Drafting Program or Associates Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum one (1) to two (2) years working experience in design/construction field. Familiarity with foodservice design/restaurant operations, or hospitality construction is a plus.
- Minimum one (1) to two (2) years of experience in CAD.
- General understanding of the latest version of Building Information Modeling (“BIM”) Autodesk Revit Architecture/AutoCAD.
- Proficiency with Internet, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Familiarity with AutoQuotes, KCL, Bluebeam/Bluebeam Session, Asana, and BQE Core (preferred)
- AutoCAD/Revit
- (Acquired) knowledge of NSD proprietary systems/databases
