DESCRIPTION, RESPONSIBILITIES, & DUTIES
Educational Leadership: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with our educational philosophy, ensuring engaging learning experiences that promote holistic child development.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where each child feels valued and supported.
Teacher Collaboration: Lead and collaborate with assistant teachers and support staff, fostering a team approach to curriculum planning, implementation, and assessment.
Parent Engagement: Establish and maintain open communication with families, including regular updates on student progress and participation in parent-teacher conferences.
Professional Development: Pursue ongoing professional growth opportunities, mentor assistant teachers, and contribute actively to a collegial faculty culture.
Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct ongoing assessments, document student progress, and use data to inform instructional practices and individualized learning plans.
Community Engagement: Participate in school events, parent meetings, and outreach activities, representing The Cathedral Preschool positively within the broader community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education: BA/BS degree in Education or Child Development – REQUIRED
Experience: 5+ years of preschool teaching experience – REQUIRED
Preferred Skills: Experience with project-based learning models; familiarity with supporting diverse student needs.
SALARY & BENEFITS
This is a part-time role, August-May, with an in-person schedule of 25 hours per week (8:30 am-1:30 pm Monday-Friday). Teachers are placed on our salary scale and paid based on their degree and years of experience. Pay ranges from $28,000-$40,000 per year. Summer camp positions are available during June, July, & August with additional salary.
