Job Description

Lab Manager Position Overview: Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is major supplier of quality asphalt cements, emulsions, cutbacks and polymer modified asphalts to the northwest United States. Idaho Asphalt Supply consistently meets customer's needs and requirements by providing quality products and services ensuring that our customer's jobs get done on time and on specification. Idaho Asphalt Supply is backed by a state of the art AASHTO testing and research facility. The company has an open position for a Lab Manager. The position is located at the Hauser, ID plant facility. This position reports to the Plant Manager and has the primary responsibility for quality control as well as safety and regulatory compliance activities for the facility. While prior experience in this field of work is preferred, it is not required. Entry level candidates will be considered as well. Employees are given necessary tools not only to efficiently perform and improve their jobs, but grow as individuals. Position Responsibilities Operate and maintain the site's quality laboratory. Test and certify the quality of raw materials and finished products. Consult with the company's corporate quality and compliance groups. Maintain the facility's quality control programs. Maintain the facility's regulatory compliance programs. Maintain and facilitate the facilities safety training programs. Continually improve all processes and programs. Occasionally interface with customers and government agencies on technical issues regarding products. Maintain a relationship with government agencies and stay current with changes in any specifications. As part of a small close-knit multifunctional manufacturing team, the position will be called upon frequently to support other functional areas. Investigate any deviances from product specification. Occasionally travel for industry conferences and training programs. Formulate and develop product specifications. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must. The ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages) and a strong attention to details. Multitask oriented, organized, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Attention to detail. Good written, oral, and reading skills. Excellent interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Bachelor's degree in a science field. Laboratory experience.
