The RN Endoscopy Navigator is a vital member of the care team, ensuring timely, safe, and patient-centered care for individuals undergoing endoscopic procedures. This role integrates advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and compassionate communication to guide patients through the pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure phases. The Navigator triages referrals to prioritize high-urgency cases, ensures pre-procedure readiness, and provides patient education tailored to their needs. Acting as a bridge between patients, families, and healthcare providers, the RN Endoscopy Navigator contributes to optimal patient outcomes and a seamless care experience. Essential responsibilities include applying the nursing process to deliver safe and efficient care, conducting thorough assessments, identifying emergency situations, reviewing referrals to prioritize urgent cases, collaborating with scheduling teams, identifying patients requiring specialized care or preparation, coordinating care plans and referrals, providing detailed pre-procedure instructions and education, ensuring documentation completeness, reviewing procedure outcomes, conducting ongoing evaluations, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Requirements include a nursing degree (Diploma, ASN or BSN preferred), licensure to practice nursing in Massachusetts, current BLS certification, 3-5 years of experience preferred with at least one year in Ambulatory Care and gastroenterology preferred, telephone triage experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and effective communication and organizational skills.
