**Job Title: Automotive Mechanic**
**Job Description**
The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for performing predictive and preventive maintenance work on a variety of engines, transmissions, differentials, steering systems, brakes, automotive vehicles, and light trucks utilizing testing and diagnostic instruments. This role involves inspecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions in automotive vehicles, light trucks, and various heavy-duty, portable, and stationary engines. The mechanic will repair or replace defective or worn parts and accessories, which may include the use of acetylene or arc welding equipment. Promotion to Equipment Mechanic may be possible with the acquisition of a California Class A Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on various automotive systems.
+ Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in vehicles and engines.
+ Repair or replace defective or worn parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
+ Utilize diagnostic instruments for testing and troubleshooting.
+ Potential to be promoted to Equipment Mechanic upon meeting qualifications.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in automotive repair and preventive maintenance.
+ Ability to diagnose and conduct diagnostic testing.
+ Knowledge of servicing and repairing air conditioning systems.
+ Experience with Ford F150 vehicles.
+ Proficiency in automotive service and repair.
**Work Environment**
The role is based in a fleet mechanic shop environment, equipped with the necessary tools and technology to facilitate a productive work setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Five Points, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
