Adjunct faculty salary for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is $1,131.00- $1,154.00 per credit hour, as listed in the CBA .

South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks an engaging and dedicated Anthropology Adjunct Professor who is able to teach one or more of the following: Survey of Anthropology, World Prehistory, Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, Indians of North America, Northwest Coast Indians and Pacific Island Cultures.

SPSCC accepts applications for adjunct faculty (part-time) positions on an ongoing basis to establish a qualified pool of applicants. The applicant pool is created for future, part-time professor appointments for the individual program or course indicated. This announcement will serve as an open and continuous applicant pool. Appointment availability varies from quarter to quarter. Candidates selected from the pool will be contacted by the division should a vacancy arise.

  • Teach college-level courses in face-to-face, hybrid or online formats based on established course outlines.
  • Develop course syllabi in accordance with College policy.
  • Be available to meet with students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to students.
  • Maintain accurate records for course grades.
  • Maintain professional standards in interactions with the College community.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications You Possess


Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Anthropology or Archeology from an accredited college or university required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the college-level.
